We complete our 71 mile walk!

Last Friday all the team at Ellie Ellie completed the Midnight Walk in Brighton to raise money for the Martlets Hospice! The Martlets Hospice is absolutely brilliant, helping people live life fully and taking care of people across the whole of the local community. We were absolutely thrilled to be taking part in such a great fundraising event, and reached our target well before the event! Thank you to every body who donated to this special cause!

The first six miles of the walk went by pretty easily, and although 13 miles doesn't seem that far when walking, the last few miles of the walk were more challenging. It started pouring with rain for the last few miles which left us soaked through! But we did it and it felt great at the end of the walk to know that we had all challenged ourselves.

Here are some snaps from the night:

A few snaps while we were out walking:

Finally, soaked through, here is the team once we had finished the walk (and it was 5am and we were ready for bed)

A week to go!

We've got a week to go until we take part in the Martlets Hospice Midnight Walk in Brighton! Our walk will start at midnight, and end when we have all finished our 13 miles! This is such a great cause and we are hoping to get lots more lovely donations in to help the Martlets Hospice who do such great work!

We've been training since February when we decided to take part, walking around the beautiful Sussex countryside and beaches in our spare time to prepare!

If you would like to donate to this great cause visit our Just Giving page and you can read more about our story!

Our Instagram page is full of our training photos too, and we will also be posting on the night next week if you want to keep up to date with our walk!

Just under 4 weeks to go!

The Ellie Ellie Team are embarking on a 13 Mile Midnight Walk this June to raise money for the Martlets Hospice!

Being established in Sussex we are passionate about supporting our local charities and events and would like to raise as much money as possible for this great charity! If you are able to donate thank you so much for supporting us! We will keep you updated with our training progress and how our legs feel after the walk!

We are really motivated this year to support great local charities and doing our bit to support others. We were even more motivated to participate when we discovered that the Midnight Walk raised enough money last year to care for 2 patients in their own home, every day for a whole year. This year, we would be so honored if we could say we were a part of making such a huge difference to other peoples lives.

Head over to our sponsorship page to donate to this great cause now and we promise we will do our best on the walk!

You can find out more about the Martlets Hospice Midnight Walk here and join in!

Easter Egg Charity Donation!

Ellie Ellie is supporting a very good cause that Heart Sussex and Surrey are doing which gives kids who may not get any chocolate eggs this Easter their very own Easter Egg! We have donated jars of our Easter Egg Mix to this great cause and picked some great charities based in Sussex to show our support!

The charities we have chosen to support for this great cause is Rockinghorse, which is based in Brighton, Baby Buddy based in Worthing and Chestnut Tree House in Arundel. All of these charities do amazing work with children to support families, improve the lives of sick children and care for children with life shortening conditions!

As well as being a great way to give kids a yummy chocolate treat this Easter it is a super way to show support to these absolutely brilliant charities. Who work hard and dedicate their time helping kids.

If you are in the supermarket any time soon, or shopping in your local town in Sussex, you can pop an extra chocolate treat in your shopping basket and drop it into any of the bins in the supermarkets around Sussex! Here is a list of the supermarkets you will find the bins!

It would be super to get as many people as possible to support and donate to this great cause this Easter. A small little treat will make a huge amount of difference to the kids of Sussex and Surrey!

We hope you have a brilliant Easter, and if you can, remember to drop a little treat in the bins at your nearest supermarket by the 17th of April!

Suport the London Duathlon Athletes

If you want to give yourself a challenge this year, or if you just want to support others, the London Duathlon is a great event which sees athletes of all abilities race through Richmond Park in South-West London on closed roads.

A duathlon is similar to a triathlon but without the swimming element. It just involves two disciplines, running and cycling in three stages. Run-bike-run.

The London duathlon is the world's largest duathlon, and attracts thousands of competitors and supporters each year and takes place a week today, on the 15th of September.

If you fancy going along to give your support for those taking part, the Event Village in Richmond Park provides a great day for friends and family. There is spectator access to see most of the event so you can cheer on the athletes, alternatively join in the fun with a family picnic while watching the event!

For more information see the website here!

Change The World For A Fiver!

We have this cool book that we keep at the office full of exciting things you can do with minimal effort  that has a positive impact on human nature.

Here's a little something that inspired us this week-

There's always loose change - and there are always charity tins. It's a match made in heaven - like ham and eggs or cheese and toast. If we all put a few pennies in a charity tin the world would be a lot better off.

The next time you buy something for 99p, look out for a charity box and give a little. If you think about it 1p per week, per person adds up to £30 million a year.

Think about it.
